Space Center Houston 9-19-09

So, I realized that I hadn't updated my blog in a while. I've been busy, sorry :) Gabi and I went last weekend with Girlscouts to Space Center Houston. We had a blast! We got to spend the night at the Space Center and do all sorts of activities until midnight and then get up and take a tour and do more stuff. It was great! We learned all about astronauts and the planets. Gabi made a necklace that represents how far apart the planets are, a paper rocket, a puzzle shaped like an astronaut and a little cardboard thing that helps her see the constellations. We got to see the Mission Control Room and the place where the astronauts do their training. We also got to see an old rocket that had actually been used. Here's a few pictures of the weekend.

Girlscout Garden Party

Last weekend Gabi's Girlscout troop had a Garden Party at Port Neches Splash Park. We had alot of fun. Charlie loved the sprinklers. They got to show off their flowers that they had grown and their worm farms. Gabi didn't do a worm farm though, she had a lady bug farm. She even found a white one!

This week the only thing that happened was my wisdom tooth surgery. It went fine, I'm still a little sore and swollen though.
Happy Father's Day to all the Dads out there!

It's been a while since I have blogged, so I have alot of catching up to do. In the time that I haven't blogged, we have done alot of stuff. We've had Gabi's birthday, gone to Galveston a couple of times, Easter and some other stuff that I can't remember at the moment. For Gabi's birthday we got her 2 new family members-guinea pigs! Their names are Lenny & Bugsy. Lenny is brown & white and Bugsy is grey & white. They're really cute! We had a petting zoo for her party and everyone loved it! I got alot of compliments on how much fun it was.

Charlie has started crawling and pulling up on things. He also has 2 more teeth on top (that's a total of 4). He is starting to get into everything! I just had to pull away a mangled magazine from him. After which he spit up a piece of paper from the magazine. I really need to baby-proof the house better!

When we were in Galveston we took the kids to the aquarium. They loved it! Charlie especially liked the penguins and the sharks. Gabi's favorite was the penguins also. We drove through Bolivar on the way to and from Galveston. It's still a big mess. It had rained and there was flooding everywhere because of the changed landscape.

I'll try to blog more, but my life is pretty hectic right now. Charlie is still not sleeping all night, so I'm trying to go to bed earlier to make up for it. He woke up 3 times last night!

Love ya'll!

Daddy/Daughter Dance

Well, Gabi and Adam had their Father/Daughter dance last Friday night. Gabi really enjoyed getting dressed up and having her hair and makeup done. However, when they got to the dance, Gabi didn't want to do anything. Adam said that she wouldn't dance and she wouldn't talk to anyone. So, maybe next year she'll do better. It was a fun experience though. I got to stay home and eat pizza and watch Mama Mia with Vicki (Adam's mom). :)

Last Saturday (Valentine's Day) we went to Yolyanne and Kenneth's wedding. We had alot of fun! Charlie was amazed at all the decorations. Shelby and Gabi loved that there was a candy table with a chocolate fountain in the center. I thought it was really pretty. Everything was pink and red with hearts. I thought it was very fitting for Valentine's Day. The next day we had Christina's baby shower. We had alot of fun there too. We can't wait to meet Miss Savanna Kate Ceravolo!

World Thinking Day

Last Saturday was the World Thinking Day Celebration for Girlscouts. Each troop was assigned a different country that they had to learn about. Then each troop had to set up a booth for their country and give out things. We had the Phillippines. We gave out samples of Chicken Adobo. It was really good, Gabi didn't like it though. We had alot of fun! Gabi has started selling Girlscout cookies too! (if anyone is interested in buying some, let me know) In March she will be going on her first campout! (I will be going too)

Charlie's First Tooth!

I've been really busy so I haven't blogged lately. On January 17th Charlie got his first tooth! He's been pretty fussy lately as a result, but we'll get through it. Since he's gotten his first tooth, he has enjoyed chewing on carrots. It's very cute!

Adam is 30!

Last Saturday (January 10th) was Adam's 30th birthday. We celebrated by going to Lauberge Du Lac in Lake Charles. They have an awesome buffet at Le Beaucoup Buffet. The waiters came and sang to Adam and gave him this piece of cake. The little sign on it says Happy Birthday and it's edible. We went into the casino for about 30 minutes and came out with $15 more than we went in with. So, we were happy. We also celebrated Monday night because our families couldn't come with us on Saturday. I made 2 cheesecakes and a bunch of family and friends came over. It's weird because Adam said that he doesn't feel older, but his turning 30 made me feel older. :)

Charlie's Neurologist Appointment

Well, we went and saw Dr. Butler today and he said that Charlie is perfect! He said that there is nothing wrong with him! He's right on target with all his developments and he's just the right size too. They tested his reflexes and Dr. Butler talked to him (Charlie made sounds and smiled back). He wants us to go back when Charlie is 2 and get an MRI to compare. He said that alot of babies have this condition and that it just disappears. He thinks that Charlie is one of these babies. Thanks for all the prayers and good thoughts! We love you guys!

Charlie

Charlie finally started sleeping in his own bed in his room. Mom finished painting the border on Saturday and all she has left now is to finish the car on his wall. The picture is before I put the sheets on his bed. His sheets are dark blue. Hopefully we'll get the curtains and everything else put up soon and then I'll take pictures of his whole room and post them. I will admit though that he only slept in there until about 1 a.m. because he woke up hungry and it's alot easier for me to put him in bed next to me and feed him while I go back to sleep. :) I'll probably regret that later on, but he'll only be this age once. We go to see Dr. Butler (the Pediatric Neurologist) in Houston tomorrow. I'll try to post when we get back to let everyone know what he says.

Getting Started

Hey everyone! I just started doing this blogging thing since everyone else is doing it. I'll try to keep up with it, but no promises. :)
